Tours
Any time our sanctuary is open, you are welcome to explore our museum space located in the narthex. The extensive displays tell the history of not only Old Otterbein, but also of the United Brethren in Christ, United Methodist Church, and South Baltimore.
Short, guided tours (about 30 minutes) are available after worship each week. Please ask the pastor or an usher for more information.
Customized tours are available during the week, if scheduled in advance. Local history, architecture, Methodist Studies, and immigration are just a few of the focus areas we can cover.
Confirmation classes are welcome and encouraged to visit! We can also assist in scheduling with other local Methodist history sites.
We periodically participate in open house style events, partnering with other organizations.
We can honor limited research requests to use our archival collection by appointment only. Unless you have an exact name, year, and other information, we unfortunately cannot conduct genealogical research for you. Our membership records prior to 1881 are located in the Maryland State Archives and are not on site. These records are mostly in German.
There is no fee for tours, but donations of $10/person are appreciated to help preserve the amazing site we have. Donations for research are always appreciated. Contact us to learn more.
